Mark Pacala

Board Member

Mark Pacala has over 30 years of general management and private equity experience in healthcare and consumer services companies. Since he entered the healthcare industry in 1994, Mr. Pacala has held CEO positions with the Forum Group (a public, $200 million revenue seniors housing business) and American Whole Health (a health network company focused on conventional medicine, alternative medicine, nutrition, and wellness).

Mr. Pacala served as a General Partner at Essex Woodlands Health Ventures (a venture capital firm with nearly $2 billlion under management) from 2002 until 2009, during which time he led investments in five companies and sat on ten different company boards. He joined Oak Hill Capital Partners (a private equity firm with $10 billion under management) in 2010 and served as Senior Advisor until 2016, focusing entirely on healthcare investments. During his time at Oak Hill, Mr. Pacala helped lead investments in Vantage Oncology and Raintree Oncology Services, which were sold successfully.

He presently sits on the boards of Accent Care (a diversified home healthcare business with $900 million in revenue and 25,000 employees) and SmartPak (custom packaging products to the equine market).

Mr. Pacala serves as Senior Advisor for healthcare investments for Ironpoint Partners (a real estate private equity firm with $2.5 billion under management). At Ironpoint Partners, he sits on the boards of three portfolio investments in seniors housing properties (partnerships with Benchmark Senior Living, Vista Springs Assisted Living, and Avanti Senior Living).

Mr. Pacala joined Pamplona Capital in 2016 (a private equity company with over $10 billion under management) as an Operating Partner focusing on healthcare investments. He sat on the board of nThrive (outsourced revenue cycle for hospitals and physicians) until June 2018.

Mr. Pacala holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College, where he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with distinction.
