“So the problem is not so much to see what nobody has yet seen, as to think what nobody has yet thought concerning that which everyone sees.” – Arthur Schopenhauer

Emily’s undergraduate and master’s degrees are in exercise science. She has a Ph.D. in kinesiology with a focus on health promotion, and a Ph.D. in experimental psychology with a focus on cognitive psychology from the University of Mississippi. Her research journey began with an exploration of how exercise influences memory and cognition. As Emily’s graduate education progressed, she became increasingly fascinated by the cognitive mechanisms underlying creative thinking. She furthered her scientific training to include cognitive psychology, examining the role of meaningful bodily movement through gesture in creative brainstorming.

Emily joined the team in September 2024, and has been especially drawn to usingher research background in service of the company’s mission: To combine the power of behavioral science with artificial intelligence to drive positive behavior change for the betterment of all people.
