“We’ve learned so much over the last 17 months, particularly within health and healthcare delivery models. The pandemic required the industry to rapidly adopt new models of care including telehealth, virtual care and digital health offerings.”
– Eric Thrailkill, Chairman of Nashville Entrepreneur Center’s Project Healthcare

Reset and Accelerate Virtual Care Post-COVID

The Academy is an immersive, eight-week program for healthcare providers who dramatically accelerated telehealth during the pandemic and now need to step back, reassess, and develop a roadmap to integrate telehealth into their care delivery strategies.

Virtual care including telehealth provider visits, remote monitoring, and hospital care at home had been on slow adoption curves. The pandemic changed everything. For healthcare organizations that were primarily reactionary in their telehealth deployment, the Academy provides a forum to be strategic and assess the many opportunities now available through virtual care and telehealth.

Who It’s For

The Academy is primarily designed for healthcare executives and clinicians who have been tasked with leading telehealth initiatives in their organizations. It’s also for entrepreneurs who are innovating new care delivery models and technologies, as well as executives from sponsoring organizations who represent leading companies in the healthcare ecosystem.

Time Commitment

Participants’ time commitment includes three-hour sessions over eight weeks with optional outside projects. The closing session is scheduled to be in-person at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, with a virtual option also available. Site visits with provider organizations and telehealth companies are virtual.

How It Works

The Academy curriculum is structured around weekly, three-hour sessions over eight weeks with the closing session offered in person. All other sessions will be virtual only. The curriculum is designed to not only be an immersive learning experience but also for participants to engage in small groups of non-competing peers and develop a telehealth roadmap for their organizations.

Academy Outcomes

Upon completing the Academy, participants will have a deep understanding of current and emerging telehealth models and use cases; familiarity with multiple vendors and technology options, including integration issues; understanding of regulatory and compliance issues along with costs and financial models; insight into obstacles to telehealth adoption including equity and access by rural and underserved communities; and data on benefits including clinical outcomes and satisfaction. Participants will have the broad knowledge required to lead telehealth in their organizations.

The Telehealth Academy curriculum will include the following activities and assignments:

  1. Participants will interact with leading provider organizations in a “virtual visit” regarding the lessons they have learned in their telehealth journeys and the trajectory they see for virtual care.
  2. Participants will visit with leading telehealth companies about industry trends, new technologies and care delivery models, and the emerging virtual care ecosystem.
  3. Participants will hear from leading experts in telehealth on topics ranging from the future of telehealth and virtual care; regulations and reimbursement; equity and access; the innovation process and overcoming obstacles to innovation, and new entrants into healthcare.
  4.  In addition, participants will have the option to participate in breakout sessions where they will describe, in the context of what they learn in the Academy from leading provider and technology companies about what is possible, the state of virtual care in their organizations, and will prioritize initiatives for moving forward.”
